The Skycrane has a unique ability to carry wheeled cases in a way that lets you get them open while mounted to the pack.  Every Skycrane pack comes with a set of wheel hooks that will allow you to attach a Hardigg Storm Case or a Pelican Case to the pack.

The way that it's done is very simple.  You route the compression straps behind the case, using the vertical one to engage the handles on the ends of the case, insert the hooks under the wheels and crank their straps tight... and viola!  Your case is attached to the pack.  To see this in more detail, read on:

1.  Route the horizontal compression straps inside of the outboard pockets, if you don't want to compress these while the case is mounted (look closely at the sides of the pack, and you'll find eyelets for the straps that allow them to pass into the inner load bay).  Attach the straps to one another, and loosely snug them, as shown at far left.

2.  Run the Flex Chassis triangular panel through a handle on the opposite end of the case from the wheels.

3.  Slip the forked upper segment of the vertical strap out of the front loophole on the bottom of the pack's top-cover.  Then put the strap through a handle on the wheeled end of the case, as shown at left.

4.  Reach behind the case, and attach the buckles of the vertical strap.  Then tighten the lower adjustable strap as much as possible.  You may need to reach behind the case and do this again later, after the case settles into position.

5.  Slip the metal wheel hooks through the upper portal on the side of the pack (the picture also shows the upper horizontal compression strap going into the hole, as mentioned in step 1 above).

(Tip:  If you're not going to be using these hooks to carry a case, the female buckles are a great place to attach the male buckles from the Backscabbard's gun butt cover).

6.  Slip the wheel hooks under the wheels, and tighten the adjustment straps...

and that's it!  Case mounted, and you're ready to move.

Tip:  The compression straps on the Skycrane are intended to be the first method of carrying whatever odd things you want to carry in the pack.  If you don't need to get the case open while mounted to the pack, and just want to get it on there and get moving, then you can simply crank the compression straps around the load and hit the road!
